Marty & Carlene {in-home session}

In-home sessions are new to me. Well, unless you count my own home, and maybe my parents place. 🙂 So, to get some practice in, I put out an offer on Facebook that the first person to message me would get a free session. Marty & Carlene were in Mexico, but through the crazy thing known as the Internet, Carlene messaged me within minutes, asking if they could have the session. I was excited! Buuuuuut, nervous, too. One of my main goals for in-home sessions is to get photos that are meaningful to the family, and since we didn’t really know each other, I was hoping that I’d be able to do so. When I asked them what they would like to be doing in the session, they suggested baking cookies for their Sunday School class.

Awww. 🙂

I shouldn’t have worried. They baked cookies, (and let me eat one!) played a game together, listened to some music, and just hung out. These photos are a little slice of the a-little-past-newly-wed stage of their marriage and their first home and all the personal touches they’ve put into it.

I like to end my posts with a Bible verse, but this time Carlene did it for me. Thanks again guys for welcoming me into your home. 🙂
